“When you catch a glimpse of your potential, that’s when passion is born,” states Zig Ziglar
The story of DISHER—a fully-integrated electronics design and development firm—is a perfect picture of how Brent Heeres, Tod Grams, and Joe Pighetti have been realizing their true passion for electronics. DISHER provides business consulting and electronics services that include systems design, software and firmware design, hardware design, prototyping and enclosure design, and verification and testing. Having started as a mechanical-engineering organization, DISHER’s growth has been majorly dependent on its ability to cater to customers’ demands with innovative design. “It is our passion that drives us forward with the customer to produce a product through conception, sketch, design, production, and implementation,” states Brent Heeres, Business Lead, DISHER.
Catering to a wide clientele from a diverse range of business verticals such as automotive, medical device, office furniture, aerospace, agriculture, marine, and consumer electronics, Heeres accredits the company’s expertise to be the major factor behind the attainment of huge customer success. “Our objective is to boost performance, productivity, and profitability for clients. DISHER brings cross-functional expertise to develop electronics systems with reduced lead times, lower costs, and consistent oversight and communication,” states Heeres.
The company’s software, firmware, and hardware-design capabilities include: embedded firmware design (8-, 16-, and 32-bit), software programming, app development, GUI/ UX/HMI Design, PCB Topology and Layout, circuit simulations/ WCCA/modeling/EMC, wired/wireless communication protocols, IoT sensor development, SMPS and linear power supply design, to name a few. Contemplating upon the current trends in the PCB landscape, the trio describes how the demand of organizations has gradually shifted from complete mechanical to electronics with time. “Mechanical is at the core of electronics projects,” comments Tod Grams, Team Lead-Electronics, DISHER, “with electronics coming to the forefront, consumers are better connected with workplaces and homes.”
DISHER’s mechanical foundation in combination with their cross-functional team brings customers advanced connectivity solutions. “With IoT as the backdrop, the infrastructure allows teams and customers to remain internally connected with each other,” says Joe Pighetti, Electronics Systems Engineer for DISHER.
DISHER’s breadth of solutions starts with Discovery which is the front end of new product development. It is followed by engineering, design, prototyping, and finally manufacturing technology services for process improvement and more. During the discovery phase, the company assists customers with idea generation in alignment with market trends and statistics, along with sketching a variety of concepts. This is followed by defining the requirements based on the design idea selected, ensuring smoother UI and UX. The design is then verified and tested by the customer and the initial phase is repeated and case faults are identified. While conducting schematic capturing, analog and digital hardware design, software and app development, the PCB is fitted within a mechanical structure.
As described by Pighetti, DISHER supports customers from a staff augmentation perspective, while simultaneously interconnecting the customers’ methodology with its own. Pighetti states, “DISHER engineers identify the customer’s long or short-term requirements and work shoulder-to-shoulder within the customer’s environment to bring about the best outcomes.”
It was a remarkable moment for DISHER when a chief designer from a client site complimented a DISHER engineer about his clarity of design. “Young and eager to deliver the best service, our talented and highly-skilled team showcases unparalleled knowledge,” says Pighetti with pride.
Following a multidisciplinary approach, DISHER strives to achieve growth while deploying an agile skillset and technologies of the future such as IoT to drive improvement in its infrastructure. The company is on a constant quest to reinvent themselves for their customers in terms of new technologies. “Aiming to emerge as a relational organization over a transactional one, DISHER will stick to its roots wherever we go and continue to make a positive ripple in the industry,” concludes Pighetti.
